How to set up formative assessment criteria?

You must define the formative assessment criteria that will be used to evaluate a student’s performance in all subjects of a batch. First start by creating a formative assessment (FA) group. Each FA group must contain assessment criteria. Assessment criteria must contain descriptive indicators against which the student will be evaluated.

  1. At the top of your dashboard, click the module access icon > Academics > Examination > SettingsCCE Settings > Scholastic Settings > Formative Assessment Items to open the Assessment Groups page.

  2. In the top right, click the New FA Group button.

  1. In the Name field, enter the name of the assessment group and select the corresponding FA.

  2. In the Description field, enter a description about the assessment group.

  3. In the CCE Exam Category field, select the exam category the assessment group applies to.

  4. Specify how FA criteria score must be calculated; by taking the average of the marks obtained for each indicator, or by summing up the marks obtained for each indicator.

Note: FA criteria calculation cannot be edited if descriptive indicator marks have already been entered for students.

  1. Click the Create button.

To edit an assessment group, click Edit.

To delete an assessment group, click Delete. You can delete an assessment group only when it does not contain any assessment criteria.
